This organizer is for holding ongoing cross-stitch projects in one easily accessible and transportable place. It's made with vintage fabrics, ribbon, tape, and is cross-stitched on linen. The cross-stitch pattern is from the lovely French magazine De fil en aiguille* (n° 71, September-October 2009), which recently announced that it was going out of business due to financial difficulties. More information (in French), including a letter from the editor, can be found here.
I was very sad to hear this news about such a pretty and inspiring magazine that has always succeeded in offering appealing cross-stitch patterns, beautiful photos, helpful instructions, and interesting articles. My thoughts go out to the magazine's staff and contributors, who've done such a great job.
* De fil en aiguille = From needle to thread

Please know that I appreciate your comments and e-mails even though I am not always able to respond. :-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-: I grew up in the United States and now live near Paris with my husband (who is French) and our son. I like all things vintage and making things by hand.
