As a prematurely born baby in the hospital, at all times of the day and night our son wore tiny hand-knit hats made by volunteers. The hats were so important because they helped him to stay warm, which allowed him to grow (every gram counted). We never knew (but often wondered) who knit the hats. I've since wanted to express my thanks and wasn't sure how to do it. I don't know how to knit, so I had the idea to make this quilt and to send it to a non-profit organization for children. That way, a well-deserving child can use it and hopefully stay warm, as our son did thanks to the hats.
