Finding Inspiration

A number of talented and creative women in my family -- my grandmother, mother, aunt, cousin -- sewed and embroidered as I was growing up. So I had plenty of inspiration and should have been eager to follow in their footsteps. But it always seemed more like work to me than fun and they probably started to lose hope that I would ever pick up a needle and thread.

Then I moved to France and discovered vintage French fabrics and notions (like the ones in this photo). And, more recently, so many amazing blogs. Now, not a day goes by that I'm not inspired to try a new project. Sewing and embroidery have finally become fun and that's why I started this blog - to share an interest with others who find it fun, too.

See you soon!
